Welcome TRAVEL AGENTS!

If you managed to find your way onto this section of our website, it is most likely because you read about us in September issue of the GSA Magazine!

Welcome!

Our advert promised you a product that can improve the marketability of your agency. We believe that we can offer you a product that will provide a use to your travellers and at the same time, they will be more than willing to carry your branding around the world. Let us explain more with a little bit of a background:

We're certain almost all of you are aware of the problem with damaged and pilfered luggage during travel. Many of your customers (and more than likely yourselves) would have had an experience where their baggage "failed to travel as planned". The statistics are frightening:

In 2008, SAA reported 29 complaints / 1000 travellers. BA was not far behind with 26 bags / 1000 travellers. These complaints only relate to damaged and pilfered luggage - we haven't even included lost luggage!

The United States - with the busiest airport hubs in the world - have their numbers down to approximately 4 complaints / 1000 travellers (figures from Jan09 - Jun09). ACSA has reacted to the problem and according to their latest figures in our current year (ending 2010), we are currently on approximately 12 / 1000 travellers. Still not pretty - especially when that one piece is yours!

SAA transported 6 million pieces of luggage in 2008. If one assumes that our airports handle 20,000 pieces per day (the number is much higher with all the other airlines), 12 complaints per 1000 means that there will be problems with 240 bags. That is 10 per hour or 1 every 6 minutes!

South Africans and World Travellers are fed up with the problem and it has almost become one of our "expected" parts of travel. Until we developed the Luggage Glove...

HOW IT WORKS...

Quite simply, the Luggage Glove is a protective cover that will go over your trolley suitcase and it has the ability to be locked shut. The design takes the handles and wheel positions of different suitcase types into account so you can still use your luggage as intended.

The Luggage Glove is designed with two important materials. The rip-stop nylon covers the edges and corners of your case - the places where most damage to the case will occur. There is a neoprene ribbing that is designed to stretch over the different shapes and sizes of luggage available. This means that your Luggage Glove will have a nice, snug fit.

Finally, the there are two locking mechanisms. The LG2 has its own built in 3 dial combination lock whilst the LG3 has a specially designed buckle that will accept almost any small travel lock. (Click on one of the following links to open a brochure of the different locking types: ___ LG2____ LG3)

Many travellers will simply say that these materials can simply be cut through. This is true but at least it then provides proof that someone has been inside your luggage! If you want to see how frighteningly easy it is to get into zippered luggage, watch the video on the left.

PROMOTION OF YOUR AGENCY

So we've idetified that there is a use for the traveller. How will this help you, the Travel Agent?

Travellers using the Luggage Glove will travel with it. It will improve the life of their luggage and it will discourage petty theft. It therefore means that the Luggage Glove will be seen at airports, train stations, cruise ships and subways. Most importantly, there will be a very high attention span at collection points such as the airline carousels - everyone will be waiting for their luggage!

Now, imagine your brand on the Luggage Glove travelling around the world! Airport advertising costs no longer need to be prohibitive. You will be reaching your target market at a fraction of the cost of billboards or advertising in these prime, high LSM locations. In fact, you will be doing international advertising for as long as your customer travels with their Luggage Glove.

Some innovative Travel Agents have already taken advantage of the Luggage Glove offering it to their VIP customers as a corporatd gift. Others are retailing it in their shops as an extra side business. Personalised luggage tags are so yesterday - develop a Luggage Glove for your agency!
